Red moss agate is a type of chalcedony, a microcrystalline variety of quartz, known for its unique red and green "moss-like" inclusions. These inclusions, primarily iron and manganese oxide minerals, give the stone its distinctive appearance. It's also sometimes referred to as Mocha stone.
