Amazonite is an alkali feldspar mineral, potassium aluminum silicate. The name comes from the Amazon River in Brazil, where there are large Amazonite deposits. It can be found as well in Colorado, India, Madagascar, Namibia, and Russia. This stone was heavily adorned in ancient Egypt. The seventh chapter of the Egyptian Book of the Dead was carved into Amazonite. Also, King Tut had an Amazonite Scarab ring, amongst his treasures. It was believed to be the Third Stone in the Breastplate of Moses.
Amazonite is a stone of Harmony, both with self and with others. A Truth-Teller and peacemaker, in the sense that it helps with communicating your true thoughts and feelings, activating the Throat Chakra.
