🤍 1. Set a Soft Intention (Not a Goal)
Rather than trying to “fix” something, reflect on what is asking to be seen.
Examples:
- “I want clarity around a repeating pattern in my relationships.”
- “I feel blocked or heavy and don’t know why.”
- “I want to feel more at peace in my family system.”
Keep the intention open and flexible. The system reveals what is ready.
🕊️ 2. Gather Only What You Know (and That’s Enough)
You do not need a full family tree.
Helpful (if available):
- Significant losses (miscarriages, deaths, adoptions)
- Major traumas (war, displacement, abuse, addiction)
- Exclusions or secrets (estrangements, forgotten relatives)
If you don’t know these details, that’s okay. The constellation works beyond conscious information.
🌬️ 3. Tend to Your Nervous System
In the days leading up:
- Prioritize rest and hydration
- Limit emotional overload (doom-scrolling, heavy conversations)
- Practice grounding (breathwork, gentle walks, meditation, music)
- A regulated body allows insight to land more gently.
🔥 4. Release the Need to Understand Everything
Constellations speak through felt sense, imagery, and emotion, not logic.
You are not required to:
- Analyze
- Explain
- Perform
- Relive trauma
- Allow curiosity to replace expectation.
🌙 5. Bring Consent & Boundaries With You
You always have the right to:
- Pause or stop
- Decline participation
- Stay present without sharing details
Let your facilitator know if you have:
- Past trauma
- Dissociation
- Sensitivity to group settings
A trauma-informed facilitator will honor this fully.

- 🌿 Eat, hydrate, and arrive grounded
- Avoid substances unless explicitly discussed beforehand.
- 🕯️ Dress comfortable
Layers are helpful—emotional shifts can affect body temperature.
- 💫 Arrive with openness, not pressure
- Healing unfolds in layers. One constellation can initiate change without resolving everything at once.
- 🌱 Aftercare Matters
After your constellation:
- Drink water
- Rest
- Journal or reflect softly
- Avoid intense processing or over-sharing immediately
- Insights may continue unfolding for days or weeks.

You do not need to be “ready,” healed, or strong.
You only need willingness.
